The included questionnaire must be completed and returned with the specimen. It is very important that the samples be collected at the correct time and placed in the properly time-labeled tubes. Each hormone collection tube is identified with a collection time. Begin with the 8 am collection tube and end with the 4 am collection. Store samples in the freezer as they are collected. Make sure you use all tubes intended for the collection and that your name, birth date, and date of collection is on all tubes and the request slip. For most accurate result of your current hormone levels, ship specimen within 30 days from collection. Mail samples the same day they are removed from the freezer. If you complete your test on a Thursday or Friday, please hold in freezer until Monday. Drop off at your local UPS office. Pick up service is not included in the pre-paid shipping price.
A minimum of 5-7 glasses of water the day before and the day of is required, for hydrating purposes.
Description: The six-point cortisol and DHEA results provide the ability to find problems with the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland (a pea-shaped structure located below the hypothalamus), and the adrenal (also called "supradrenal") glands (small, conical organs on top of the kidneys).
