Description: Amyloid Balance is a blood-based Alzheimer’s biomarker test that evaluates pTau217 and Beta-Amyloid 1-42 and provides a calculated ratio. By evaluating both biomarkers together, Amyloid Balance provides a more comprehensive picture of the patient’s Alzheimer’s-related biomarker profile. These biomarkers are associated with Alzheimer’s disease-related amyloid pathology. The test can provide healthcare providers with additional biological information to consider as part of a broader clinical evaluation of patients with cognitive concerns.
Testing may be considered for individuals who:
- Have memory or cognitive concerns
- Are undergoing an evaluation for cognitive changes
- Recommended for people 45 or older
