Description: Creatinine is a waste product from normal muscle use and meat protein in your diet. Healthy kidneys remove creatinine from the blood and then passes it out of your body through urine.
The creatinine clearance test compares the creatinine level in a 24-hour urine sample with the creatinine level in your blood. This measures kidney function and helps estimate your glomerular filtration rate (GFR), which is the amount of blood cleaned by tiny kidney filters called glomeruli each minute.
