Early Menopause Panel:
Fasting Required: Yes 12 hours fasting required
Lab: Quest Diagnostics
Specimen: Blood
Results: Average processing time 3-5 Days
Note: Result turnaround times are an estimate and are not guaranteed. Our reference lab may need additional time due to weather, holidays, confirmation/repeat testing, or equipment maintenance.
Special Instructions: Dietary supplements containing biotin may interfere in assays and may skew results to be either falsely high or falsely low. For patients receiving the recommended daily doses of biotin, draw samples at least 8 hours following the last biotin supplementation. For patients on mega-doses of biotin supplements, draw samples at least 72 hours following the last biotin supplementation.
Description:
The Early Menopause Panel measures follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), Luteinizing hormone (LH), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), Estradiol, and prolactin levels in the blood to help determine when you’re entering or in the menopause transition phase. This panel may be helpful for women who have a history of irregular menstrual periods and a negative pregnancy test to help you and your doctor decide next steps for handling any symptoms you may be experiencing.
