Includes:
Rheumatoid Factor - High levels of Rheumatoid Arthritis Factors (RA) are found in 80-90% of adult patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis, as well as other autoimmune disorders or infections including but not limited to hepatitis, mononucleosis, tuberculosis and syphilis. High RA levels tend to run in families. A person may also have high levels with no active diseases.
Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide (CCP) Antibody (IgG) - Checks for an amino acid called citrulline which is present when you have rheumatoid arthritis (RA). RA attacks your joints and Citrulline is a byproduct of joint damage. In response, your body often makes antibodies against citrulline. These antibodies are called anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide, or anti-CCP antibodies.

This test is positive in most people with rheumatoid arthritis and can even be positive years before rheumatoid arthritis symptoms develop. According to American College of Rheumatology, approximately 95% of patients with a positive CCP will develop RA in the future.
    Mutated Citrullinated Vimentin (MCV) Antibody
MCV antibody is one of several specific anti-citrullinated protein antibodies which may be used as a second-line marker of rheumatoid arthritis (RA), in addition to rheumatoid factor and anti-cyclic citrullinated peptide (CCP). MCV antibody is less specific than CCP but has a slightly higher sensitivity and the addition of MCV to CCP adds 5-10% sensitivity for the diagnosis of RA. MCV antibody positivity is also associated with more severe disease and greater radiologic progression.
